Roger L. Brockenbrough

Roger Brockenbrough

Roger was born July 31, 1934 in Buena Vista, VA. He attended Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, VA, graduating with a BS in Civil Engineering, to which he added a Master’s in Structural Engineering. His career commenced as an officer in the Army Corp of Engineers, mostly at Fort Benning, GA on bridge building and small construction projects, after which he spent 30 years with U. S. Steel’s Tech Center. Roger took an early retirement at age 57, at which time he got serious about having more enjoyment in life! (However, due to the lingering effects of the Protestant ethic, he continued with part-time engineering work for another 30.) He was named to the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame in 2017.
