Susan B. Cox

Susan Cox

Susan was born November 9, 1937 in Paducah, KY. Susan grew up in a small town in KY, an environment she describes as being wonderfully supportive. She enjoyed the college years at the University of Kentucky, seizing every opportunity to express gratitude to all who opened doors, offered opportunities and encouraged her to do and be her best. There being no swim team for women at the time, Susan excelled in synchronized swimming and gymnastics. Susan’s post-college career has focused on guidance counseling, managing outdoor programs, assisting adults with special challenges to experience sports, coaching cheerleading, masters-level swim teams and other water sports and guiding Team-in-Training (raises funds for Leukemia/Lymphoma research). An annual triathlon is held in Susan’s name (Tri for Sight – a fund raiser for eye research at UK). Susan’s motto is, No one flourishes alone – be grateful to all for encouragement and for opening doors.

Susan was named to the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame in 2010.
